What is the EDGE Router? simply speaking, EDGE Router is a cellular mobile router works under EDGE networks. The E-Lins H685e EDGE Router build-in optimized software, and was made of high quality industrial materials. It is a networking device which is customized to tasks of routing and forwarding information and applications. It uses an enhanced modulation technique for increasing the network capacity and datarates of GSM cellular wireless networks. The Edge technology can bring dramatically increased speeds to GSM services and correspondingly better serve the M2M applications.

The H685ve EDGE Router Ethernet is connected to the RJ45 ethernet ports of many types of machines to build the cellular edge networks, where the cable internet service is out of the control.

The H685ve cellular router is a EDGE router designed to be compatible with the current and future requirements of remote telemetry and industrial control systems applications. The unit has an integral Ethernet port and a 25 pin RS-232 serial interface for local connectivity. The inbuilt RS-232 port can be used to connect legacy serial based equipment such as PLCs, RTUs or IEDs.  Owning an integrated stateful inspection firewall and IPSEC VPN (Virtual Private Network), H685eEDGE router can be used with the latest security technology to resist denial of service attacks and hacking. The VPN’s can be used as a way of increasing security and to create secure tunnels, running between sites. The VPNs can be used to interconnect the sites effectively replacing the requirement for dedicated leased lines.

The EDGE Router creating a standalone network, where access to attached LAN-based devices is gained over wireless network for control and monitoring purposes.
